Point of Contact

ROYAL OAK SCHOOLS COMMUNICATION AND POINT OF CONTACT

It is always good practice to establish and maintain open communication with school staff. Please contact them not only when there are questions or concerns but also when things are going well.

Many parent and community questions are easily and completely answered by communicating directly with the educator in charge of the class or program. Whether in the classroom or the cafeteria or on the playground or practice field, the quickest and easiest solution is usually found with the person most directly involved.

  • Talk with that person first. In order to find a time that is satisfactory to both you and the individual involved, you may need to make an appointment.
  • When you make an appointment, please state the general nature of your question or concern. This allows the staff member to be prepared and gather the necessary information in advance of meeting with you.

Parents are often discouraged when they first attempt to communicate with the Superintendent and School Board Members in order to resolve a problem their child may be experiencing in school and are sent back to building-based officials. Please reference the chart below to guide your inquiry. Any matters that remain unresolved or require additional attention can be brought to the Superintendent.

This document does not supersede the right of any employee or citizen to directly contact the Board of Education or the Superintendent. However, whenever an issue is sent directly to the Board as a whole or to a board member as an individual, it will likely be referred to the administration for study and response.
